Shar-pei Training with Platinum K9
Charlie is a 9 month old Shar-pei. He is much loved and we are told very spoilt. However, he does have a few behaviours that are causing his family concern and that are starting to hinder their lives. In short, Charlie rules the roost.
Ruling the roost
Resource guarding and on leash manners are the primary challenges with Charlie. Overall, we will be imprinting a whole range of boundaries and social skills within a home environment.
Many dogs do not understand what is appropriate behaviour in a human world and this can be compounded by owners trying to train or solve the issues using ‘human’ logic or emotions.
Dogs learn best through a daily training routine of consistent and repetitive professional training.
Residential dog training is the perfect platform for changing behaviours or teaching new behaviours.
The Shar-Pei Breed
The Shar-Pei is a breed of dog known for its deep wrinkles and blue-black tongue. The breed originates from Canton, China. The English name is probably derived from the British spelling of the Cantonese equivalent, sā pèih, which translates to “sand skin” and refers to the texture of its short, rough coat.
Temperament: Suspicious, Affectionate, Devoted, Independent, Reserved, Loving
